What is Carbonio CE?
Carbonio Community Edition (CE) is a free, open-source email and collaboration platform from Zextras. It combines mail, calendar, contacts, files, document editing, and chat or video meetings, and you run it on your own server.
What does “VPS and management” include?
A VPS to host Carbonio CE, plus our team to install and configure it and look after it afterwards: DNS and email authentication, TLS certificates, migration, monitoring, updates, and spam and deliverability tuning. You can also ask us to manage a Carbonio server you already run.
How much does it cost?

Can you move our existing mailboxes?
Yes. We can help migrate mailboxes from your current mail provider or server using IMAP, and plan the DNS cut-over so mail keeps flowing. Tell us what you use today and roughly how many mailboxes you have.
How is this different from your Zimbra and MailCow VPS?
They are different open-source mail platforms. Take a look at our Zimbra and MailCow pages, or contact us and we will help you choose the one that fits your team.
Is Carbonio CE the same as the paid Carbonio editions?
No. This page covers the free Community Edition. Zextras also offers commercial editions with additional enterprise features. If you need something that is not in CE, let us know and we will tell you what is possible.
Where is my server hosted?
On our infrastructure at Yotta NM1 in Navi Mumbai, India’s Tier-4 data centre, for low latency across India and data residency within India.
Can I add backups?
Yes. Daily image-level backup is available as an add-on for our Linux VPS plans — see our Managed Backup page for details.
